Chevy Study Analyzes America’s Love of Pickup Trucks
November 6, 2018
Everyone knows that with American drivers there is a joy of driving a pickup truck. But, what makes up such affection is less clear. To elucidate truck drivers’ appreciation for their vehicles, Chevy decided to work with Harris Poll and ask over 1,000 pickup truck drivers how they feel about their trucks, how they use them, and what makes them so special. Some surprising and fun results came up:
- 27 percent of pickup truck drivers name their vehicle, while 57 percent of pickup drivers consider their truck to be part of their family. Forty-five percent of owners plan on passing their prized truck down to a loved one.
- A remarkable 89 percent of pickup drivers say that they have used their truck to help others, which is quite an admirable feat. A third say they have helped tow someone else’s car, and a third say that they have used their pickup to support a community event, a local school, or a charitable cause.
To give Americans the best possible pickup-truck experiences, Chevrolet is wholly dedicated to providing exceptional trucks that routinely outperform their competitors. As of 2014, GM is the only manufacturer to offer midsize, light-duty, and heavy-duty pickup trucks, meeting the needs of a variety of truck drivers and exceeding expectations at every turn. Whether you want the rugged, off-road adventurer that is the Colorado ZR2 or a formidably strong and capable Silverado 4500-6500 HD, Chevy has the truck for you.
