These days it seems like every automaker is coming out with a crossover. So, Chevy is introducing a twist to the segment! Not only is this new Chevrolet crossover all-new, but it features the Blazer name in a fresh, more modern package. Formerly a more rugged SUV sitting on a truck-like frame, the new Chevrolet Blazer is targeting a niche spot in the lineup between the mid-size Traverse and the compact Equinox.
The new Blazer will offer two engines for you to pick from. Pick from either the standard 2.5L inline-4 that delivers 193 horsepower or the 3.6L V6, which is rated at 305 horsepower. The V6 delivers the power necessary to tow up to 4,500 pounds. The choice of available AWD will be offered on all trims. The Chevy Blazer will come standard with a nine-speed automatic transmission.
In addition to all the performance features mentioned above, Chevrolet reps say the new crossover will offer an RS trim level equipped with a dual-clutch transmission, standard AWD, and sporty styling cues.
Made to be “Just Right”
While the new Chevrolet crossover is only slightly smaller than the Traverse, experts say the diversity of Chevy’s crossover and SUV lineup helps attract customers who are looking for something best suited to their needs and lifestyle.
